Komalên Ciwan made a written statement of commemoration, of comrades Baran Mawa who was martyred with his 6 friends on 7 July 2018. The statement emphasized that Baran Mawa was the pioneer commander of the youth of Kurdistan with his personality, stance and struggle.
‘YOUTH ORGANIZATION HAS BEEN PIONEERED BY THE REVOLUTION SPIRIT’
In this statement, Baran Mawa was explained with the following words: “First of all, in July, the month of great resistance, we commemorate Baran Mawa and all martyrs of the revolution with respect and gratitude; We reiterate our commitment to their struggles.
On July 14, 1982, in the dungeons of Amed, against the fascist genocide Republic of Turkey, the Kemals, Hayris, Akifs and Ali Çiçeks demonstrate a great and historical resistance. The resistance of the 14th of July, which creates a great turning point in our history of struggle, strengthens the great spirit of resistance against fascist colonialism. With the same spirit of resistance, the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla, who fought a passion for victory in the mountains of Kurdistan, carried the torch of resistance from the Amed Dungeons.
Our martyrs reveal the values created by our truth, the passion of victory and the determination to struggle; which is the fundamental reality that has created and continues to create.
Our history of the struggle for more than 40 years has revealed many heroes and sacrificers with this reality. Undoubtedly, one of the friends who welded and integrated his personality with this reality was Baran. Comrade Baran Mawa has fulfilled his pioneering role and mission with a great sense of responsibility since the first processes he met with the struggle. With his determined and assertive stance, he has made great efforts in the youth movement and in this sense, in Northern Kurdistan, he has fought in the forefront in the revolution works, has taken responsibility and has been a labour force.
Uncontent with this, he also took part in every field of struggle with great excitement and enthusiasm in the mountains of freedom of Kurdistan. In the early stages of the Rojava Revolution, he worked in many areas of Rojava and assumed the revolutionary leadership of the youth organization with the values and spirit of the revolution. Baran, who has been involved in the Youth Movement management activities for many years, has always made our youth organization flow like an exuberant flood.
Despite all the impossibilities, he never approached without faith, on the contrary, he created great opportunities from the impossibilities and put them into the service of the revolution.
Baran, who approaches the leadership paradigm with great faith, absorbs and empowers himself with this consciousness, has always maintained his attitude and approach clearly in all the challenging conditions in which our freedom movement passes.
In this sense, he never compromised his organizational attitude. With great faith and creativity against the denial and destruction attacks of the enemy against our movement, he was one of the pioneers of the revolution with a self-sacrificing spirit on the basis of frustrating enemy attacks and achieving the struggle to victory.
‘HE HAD A STANCE WHICH CREATED REVOLUTIONARY PERSONALITIES IN COMRADES AROUND HIM’
As it is known, historical self-government resistance was initiated in 2015 under the leadership of the youth movement. In this sense, Baran friend, who has given a great deal of labour and participated in this process with great hope and belief that this process will result in victory, he played a major role in carrying out the leadership of the youth movement.
The intensive efforts of Baran were effective in preparing hundreds of youth cadres and creating the spirit of resistance and determination revealed in that historical process.
In this sense, he especially considered the education of youth; On the basis of the leadership’s ideology and philosophy, he has always distributed wealth with his experience and knowledge in educational activities. Baran has always had a stance that creates a revolutionary personality for all his comrades. As a result of this, there is a similar resistance in history and nowhere else in the world against the precipitation policies that the enemy tries to carry out only with his technique in every area where resistance is spread, especially in Sur, Nusaybin, Cizre, Şırnak and Gever. It is the accumulation of the values created by the PKK and our leadership that reveal this spirit.
Comrade Baran has always aimed to participate in these values by renewing himself with devotion and belief. He has played an active role in the struggle on the basis of his belief, following his commitment to martyrs and has made a great impact in every field he goes with his humble stance.
‘HE WAS A LEADER IN ALL ASPECTS OF LIFE’
Baran, who pioneered in every moment of life, continued his search for truth and freedom uninterruptedly. In this sense, he has responded to every process by reading; with his deep historical consciousness and predictions in the most accurate manner, he revealed the Apoist militant responsibilities of the period.
Therefore, he has established himself with this responsibility at the highest level and has created party personalization with organizational perfectionism and sensitivity in every sense. As always, in a historical process which we have passed through, he has been the answer with a style that will determine the course of the process, with a sacrificial spirit.
Against the policies of denial and extermination of the colonial enemy against the Kurdish people and the Kurdistan Liberation Guerrillas, Baran has always given his life to revenge in Botan, one of the most challenging areas of the struggle.
Botan, which has an important place in our history of struggle, has witnessed much heroism. Heval Baran has pioneered this area with great determination and left a big mark in history in this sense with his struggle and resistance.
Comrade Baran, who took his place in all the works with the spirit of the pioneering of youth based on the most active participation in the process, joined the caravan of martyrs in Faraşin area on 7 July 2018 ”.

Our revolution of freedom is the command of our beloved martyrs. Under the leadership of thousands of Barans who take over the legacy of our martyrs, it will certainly reach victory.
In this month of resistance and the victory march we are going through, we commemorate all martyrs with respect and gratitude.
