Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s brother Mehmet Ocalan and tutelar Mazlum Dinc appealed to the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office to visit Imrali.
Hamili Yildirim’s brother Polat Yildirim, Omer Hayri Konar’s brother Emin Konar and Veysi Aktas’s sister Sabiha Aslan issued a similar appeal to visit the island prison.
All the appeals were rejected and the prosecutor’s office cited the “Restrictions against convicts” clause in the “Execution of Sentences and Security Measures Act No.5275” for the rejection.
Omer Hayri Konar and Veysi Aktas were taken to Imrali as the “secretariat” on March 15, 2015 and Hamili Yildirim was taken on July 15, 2015. Since that time, the first time the prisoners saw their families was this June 5 for the eid visitation, before the Istanbul elections.
