The People’s Labor Party (HEP) Amed Provincial Chairman Vedat Aydın was commemorated on the 28th anniversary of the massacre.
‘HUNDREDS, THOUSANDS OF VEDAT AYDINS’
Vedat Aydın’s brother Veysi Aydın participated in the commemoration held at the Mardin Gate Cemetery along with MPs, executives and Kurdish politicians of the People’s Democratic Party (HDP).
HDP Amed Provincial Co-Chair Zeyyat Ceylan, speaking at the memorial, stressed that Vedat Aydın is a great revolutionary and teacher. “Vedat Aydın was a pioneer in democratic politics and the honour of the Kurdish people,” said Ceylan. “For this, the dark forces in the state massacred Vedat Aydın 28 years ago. They wanted to slaughter the mentality of Vedat Aydın. Maybe they took Vedat Aydın physically from us, but they created hundreds of thousands of Vedat Aydın intellectually and spiritually. Today, millions of people are moving towards Vedat Aydın to ensure truth, peace and dignified life. ”
’THERE WERE NO MATERIALS FOR 28 YEARS BECAUSE…’
Veysi Aydın, brother of Aydın, recalled that the murderer of his brother, who had been murdered by the state had not been revealed for 28 years and said, “All these years we have not pursued the murderer. Because we know that the killer is an organization. This has been done to the Kurds since the past. For this, we do not go after individual people.”
HDP Amed MP Musa Farisoğulları pointed out that although the perpetrators of Aydın were known, they had not been exposed for 28 years and said: “This mentality has not changed since the establishment of the state. Enmities against our people and our pioneers make massacres of every veil. ”
‘THEY COULD NOT WEAKEN THE KURDISH PEOPLE’
HDP Amed Provincial Co-Chair Hülya Alökmen Uyanık stressed Vedat Aydın’s commitment to national values and said: “They raised the cries of peace and democracy. By making this attack to break the will of the awakened Kurdish people, those who wanted to intimidate the Kurdish people understood that they were wrong. The struggle of the Kurdish people continues. ”
