According to the UN report, in 2017, nearly 50,000 women and children were massacred by the men closest to them.

The UN Office for Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Vienna, Austria, has announced its report on violence against women and children. According to the report, in 2017, nearly 50,000 women and children were massacred by the men closest to them, almost all of these men are family members.

In 2017, 87,000 women were massacred worldwide. Many of these women were killed by family members.

‘Women massacres increased’

The report also found that women were massacred as a result of systematic violence. In the report, a comparison was made with the massacres of women in 2012 and as a result, it was noted that there was an increase in female massacres compared to that period.

‘20,000 women were massacred in Asia ’

According to the report, 20,000 women and children were murdered in 2017 on the Asian continent, where domestic violence is the most prevalent. This figure was announced as 19 thousand in Africa, 8 thousand in America and 3 thousand in Europe.

464,000 people have been killed worldwide 

According to the report, 464,000 people were killed in 2017. In 2017, it was emphasized that the number of people who died of “deliberate killing” was higher than the number of those who died in armed conflicts.

According to the UN report, the number of those killed in armed clashes was 89,000.
