Rector Mehmed Özkan, who was appointed as a trustee by the fascist government, was protested by students at their graduation ceremony held at Boğaziçi University.
Mehmed Özkan was appointed by the fascist gang leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on November 12, 2017, although he did not participate in the elections of the Rectorate, he was protested when he came to the podium to make his speech. Rector Özkan’s speech was drowned by whistling and applauding students of Boğaziçi University, who also waved rainbow flags.
PREVIOUS PROTESTS
Boğaziçi University students protested Rector Özkan at the graduation ceremonies between 2017 and 2018, but the government remains decisive in placing their own gang members in higher positions across the country, to maintain control and suppress the free voice of the students.
