A prımary school teacher in Mersin, who was arrested on the grounds of sexually abusing 6 children, had his first trial today, in the Mersin 1st High Criminal Court.
Rapist H.T. was present at the hearing, while the children who were exposed to sexual abuse were connected with the Audio and Video Information System (SEGBIS). Families of the children and lawyers also attended the trial.
The accused H.T. denied the charges and demanded his release. Then, under the demand of the prosecutor, the pedagogue asked the children to explain in detail what they had experienced and how they felt during the “incident.”
MOTHER REMOVED FROM THE HALL
The families spoke after the children’s declarations. The families stated that their children were exposed to sexual abuse and that they complained about the accused. When one of the mothers shouted at the defendant and stated that he would struggle, the defendant’s lawyer demanded that the hearing continue. The mother who reacted to abuse was removed from the hall.
REQUEST FOR PARTICIPATION
The court accepted the request of the complainant, that the case is presumed privately with the participation of the victims and the Ministry of Family Social Policies. The court rejected the request of the Mersin Bar Association to participate in the case.
The hearing was postponed to 22 October.
