Commenting on the 37th anniversary of the July 14 Great Death Fast resistance, PAJK Coordination said, ”The Newroz spark lit by Mazlum, was turned into a roaring flame with the bodies of ‘the Fours; ‘immortalized by their starving bodies, has brought our struggle for freedom from the dungeons to the mountains.”
In a written statement, the PAJK Coordination said:
“On the 37th anniversary of the Great Death Fast Resistance on July 14, we commemorate our immortal martyrs Kemal Pir, Hayri Durmus, Ali Çiçek, Akif Yılmaz with respect and gratitude, and salute the actions that show the path of victory.
The resistance of the death fast is a great response given with great determination and historical responsibility on the grounds of betrayal of revolutionary values and struggle, under conditions of fascism and coup, in an environment where surrender and cooperation are imposed. It is an act in which human will is put forward and the real bar of revolutionism is created.
Faşizm ve darbe koşullarında, teslimiyet ve işbirlikçiliğin dayatıldığı bir ortamda, devrimci değerlere ve mücadeleye ihanetin dayatıldığı bir zeminde büyük bir kararlılık ve tarihsel sorumlulukla verilen büyük bir cevaptır ölüm orucu direnişi. İnsan iradesinin ortaya konduğu ve devrimciliğin gerçek çıtasının yaratıldığı bir eylemdir. 14 Temmuz direnişi fedailiğin, davaya bağlılığın, halkına karşı sorumluluğun, ‘mezar taşıma borçludur diye yazın’ diyen bir çizginin, adanmışlığın tarihe kazınmasıdır. Mazlum’un yaktığı Newroz ateşi, Dörtlerin ateşi ile gürleşmiş ve bedenini açlığa yatırarak ölümsüzleşen yoldaşlarımızın eylemleri ile özgürlük mücadelemiz zindanlardan dağlara taşınmıştır. Kemal Pir, M. Hayri Durmuş, Akif Yılmaz ve Ali Çiçek öncülüğünde gelişen direnişle Kürt halkının özgürlük mücadelesi zaferini ilan etmiştir.
The resistance of July 14 is the engraving of a line that writes the dedication to the cause, responsibility to the people, and dedication to history. The Newroz spark lit by Mazlum, was turned into a roaring flame with the bodies of ‘the Fours; ‘immortalized by their starving bodies, it has brought our struggle for freedom from the dungeons to the mountains. Kemal Pir, Hayri Durmus, Akif Yilmaz and Ali Cicek led the resistance of the Kurdish people and declared the victory of the struggle for freedom.
Our struggle, which has grown in the last 37 years and spread to the Middle East and the world, has been developed in the footsteps and leadership of the line that emerged with the July 14 Great Death Fast Resistance. This line of freedom is the one that created the guerrilla struggle, the struggle for women’s freedom and the understanding of a democratic nation in the mountains of Kurdistan.
The line of resistance, which continued with Leyla Güven in the footsteps of the Kemals, has shown the victory of the will with the hunger strikes that lasted for hundreds of days against the same fascist, genocide, denialist and massacre Turkish state. This will is the will that creates freedom of our leadership, the overthrow of fascism and free life. The struggle for resistance, which marked the year 2019, proved that free Kurdishness and the PKK spirit who love to die for life will surely win.
Our struggle for freedom, which has reached half a century, has been going through a heavy and difficult process. As an alternative movement at the centre of World War 3, the interstate colonialist, genocidal system continues to be targeted. At this stage in which the Kurdish people create their own values, opportunities, freedom system and social struggle, all kinds of invasion, massacre and genocide attacks imposed from outside are condemned to vain.
The line of resistance that emerged with the spirit of July 14 revealed a militancy and the reality of the revolutionary people that would stand against the whole attack and concept.
The fascist Turkish army, which invaded Southern Kurdistan and attacked the national existence and unity of the Kurds, and killed our comrade Helmet, the valiant and pioneer revolutionary of this people, is condemned to defeat and loss in the mountains of Southern Kurdistan.
We call on all libertarian women struggling in four parts of Kurdistan, especially Kurdish women in the south, to create the national unity of Kurdish women and to turn areas against the colonialist, occupying forces into resistance. We call for the leadership of the Kurdish national unity. We invite matriotic, revolutionary and democratic groups to engage in a more radical struggle against fascism and to keep the spirit of July 14 alive in all areas.
In the spirit of July 14, we invite all our people and women to stand up with the claim of winning the struggle for freedom and the line of resistance to victory, invading the occupation in Başur and the rebellion against genocide and all male-dominated practices.
It’s time for the freedom of women. Women’s freedom has developed with the resistance line that created the spirit of PKK-PAJK. While we commemorate our great martyrs who are the creators of this spirit again with respect and gratitude, we state that we will surely create the freedom of our leadership as a requirement of our commitment to their memories. ”
