On July 5, PAJK Co-ordination made a written statement regarding the martyrdom of comrade Helmet in an attack by the occupation planes of the occupying Turkish state. “The fact that comrade Helmet is part of the works in Basurê Kurdistan and the fact that he is a member of the General Presidency Council, which the leadership describes as his “helpers” makes it clear that this attack was targetted.
The statement of Coordination of PAJK is as follows:
“As all Kurdistanis know, KCK General Presidency Council member comrade Helmet (Diyar Xerib), Şahin (Abdülkadir Aslan) and Devran comrades joined the caravan of martyrs as a result of the airstrike carried out by Turkish warplanes on 5 July.
We commemorate our comrade Helmet, who has been the symbol of the great revolutionary, national unity, as well as his fellow martyrs. We will continue to struggle until victory.
We, as PAJK, would like to express our condolences to the comrades, families and peoples of comrades Helmet, Devran and Şahin. At the same time, we want to emphasize that this massacre carried out by the fascist and colonialist Turkish state will not be forgotten, they will pay for this.
A PLANNED, COLLABORATED ATTACK
The Turkish state wants to achieve its definitive results through local collaborators in order to achieve its fascist and colonialist plans and to invade every step of the land belonging to the Kurds, and at the same time, it tries to deepen the concept of liquidation aimed at the liberation movement led by Leader Apo. Therefore, it utilises all kinds of dirty tricks and methods. It is suppressing the local people through local collaborators and agents.
On this basis, it cannot be considered as a random or ordinary event that our comrade Helmet was massacred in such a process that corresponded to the operations that were initiated in order to invade the territory of Basurê Kurdistan in particular. The fact that Helmet is a member of Bashur Kurdistan shows that the occupators specifically targeted comrade Helmet, being a member of the General Assembly Council, which the leadership refers to as “my helpers.
Comrade Helmet, with his stance, life, devotion and inexhaustible energy during the struggle for more than 25 years, has gained an endless struggle with the aim of organizing the people of Başurê Kurdistan and educating them with the consciousness of free citizenship under Leader Apo’s paradigm. He was able to maintain his noble stance in the mountains, cities and all kinds of struggles, and he had a modest, simple, historically wise stance.
THE REVOLUTION OF BASHUR IS THE REVOLUTION OF THE WOMAN
In addition to this, by developing a strong comradeship with the women comrades under the ideology of freedom, he always emphasized the role that women will play in the revolution and, as our leadership states: ‘the Bashur revolution is the women’s revolution.’
Comrade Helmet appreciated the pioneering role of women in the struggle. In this respect, we urge all Kurdish women and young people, especially women from Basurê Kurdistan, to adopt Comrade Helmet’s line of struggle and to protect their own the lands and gains of Kurdistan, which he has been fighting for throughout his life.
NATIONAL UNITY
In this sense, Helmet is the symbol of the national Kurdish unity. After this time, it would be a betrayal not to provide the national Kurdish unity. At this time, the blood spilt on the Kurdish lands can not be wasted. It is the duty of all of us to embrace the struggle of Comrade Helmet and the legacy of his efforts, and to build Kurdistan, which has achieved an autonomous, democratic and national unity.
This is a requirement of both matriotism, being a Kurdistani and being a democrat.
All the peoples of Kurdistan and the enemies of Kurdistan should know that the reckoning of every massacre on the land of Kurdistan will be achieved and, every drop of shed blood will be avenged.
Comrade Helmet should be claimed as the symbol and hero of the national Kurdish unity. We must adopt it in a manner that is worthy of its name, stance, life and struggle, and we must take account of the occupying, fascist Turkish state and its collaborators.
For this reason, we are urging everyone, especially women and young people, to come to the fields with the spirit of an uprising and to show their democratic reactions without waiting. ”
