HPG Press Center issued a written statement, sharing the identities of guerrillas Ramazan Bozkurt (Ciya Amed) and Bilal Kaplan (Xwinrej Carcella) who were martyred in an attack by the invading Turkish, following an action against the Xeregol hill in Hakkari’s Cukurca district.
The statement said the following:
“Our forces carried out an ambush action on July 26 at 05:30 against the invading Turkish army who have positioned a unit on the Xeregol Hill in the Cele district to secure the road. The enemy unit was effectively hit from two sides at close range. 11 soldiers were killed and 2 were injured.
Our forces simultaneously opened fire on the enemy positions and shelters on the Xeregol Hill. The number of casualties could not be ascertained in this action.
Following the action, the invading Turkish army removed their casualties with Skorsky helicopters and bombed the action grounds with jets, Howitzers and mortars. In this bombing, our comrades Ciya and Xwinrej were martyred.
The invading Turkish army has launched an operation and the ambushes continue as part of it.

CIYA AMED – (RAMAZAN BOZKURT)
Our friend Çiya, who was born to a matriotic family in Amed, was introduced to our struggle for freedom at a very young age. At a time when the genocidal Turkish state increased its attacks on the Kurdish people, our friend Çiya, who participated in our struggle, approached the tasks assigned to him with great devotion in every field he remained and worked. In a short period of time, Çiya friend, a professional guerrilla-style fighter, fought against the enemy in Xeregol action and joined the caravan of martyrs.
XWİNREJ ÇARÇELA – (BİLAL KAPLAN)
Our Xwinrej friend was born in Hakkari and grew up in a matriotic environment. Realizing the enemy reality at an early age, our friend Xwinrej joined the guerrilla ranks against the fascist policies implemented by the Turkish state against our people and entered an active struggle.
Our fellow Xwinrej, who fought against the enemy with great hatred and anger, quickly adapted to guerrilla life and fought to the last moment in the last Xeregol action as a competent warrior and became a heroic martyr.
We wish our condolences to all matriotic Kurdistan people, especially the precious families of our friends Çiya and Xwinrej, who have reached martyrdom. We promise that we will carry the flag of freedom that our martyrs carry to victory. ”
