A commemorative event was held under the leadership of the Internationalist Commune for the YJA-Star guerrilla Sara Dorşin, who was martyred in the Media Defense areas on April 7, 2019.
Martyr Sara Dorşin, also known as Sarah Handelmann, was born in Germany and participated in the struggle for freedom.
The commemoration event for Martyr Sara in the city of Derik in Rojava started with a minute of silence, followed by a video demonstration prepared by her fellow fighters.
The poem that Sara wrote for her friends, the letter she sent to her friends from the mountains of freedom before being martyred was read. Sara was said to have always taken martyr Zilan as a basis for herself and the song ‘Zilan’ was performed at the memorial event.
Fellow comrades talked about the martyr Sara, as the most influential women’s struggle for freedom. Sara, who went to Bakurê Kurdistan to visit, was impressed by the fact that women were organizing by their own free will and the struggle for women’s freedom brought her to the mountains of freedom.
The commemoration event ended with the slogan ‘Şehid Namırın, Jin, Jiyan, Azadi, Biji Serok Apo’.
