Mêrdîn Metropolitan Municipality, which is under the leadership of Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), recently started to write road warning signs in Kurdish, on the roads in order to ensure safety and priority in pedestrian traffic in all districts starting from Nisêbîn.
However, the Department of Transportation by the Municipality teams in the district of Mahsêrte (Ömerli) sent a warning letter, the signs were taken down by the Turkish occupation Police Department teams in the district. No reason was given to the obstacle in question.
