According to reports, ISIS members who have been arrested in Southern Kurdistan and Iraq, have been placed in a special camp, in Duhok. In the region where the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) is the government, 793 ISIS members from Shengal, Rabia, Mosul, Kirkuk and Xaneqîn have been kept since 2014.
Parastin in control…
In 2014, ISIS settled in the border regions, especially in Mosul, and soon occupied Mosul and its affiliated settlements. One year later, with the support of the international coalition, Mosul was taken back from ISIS as a result of the operation initiated by the Iraqi Army and Peshmerge.
ISIS people who lost their dominance in the region was delivered to the KDP within the framework of agreements, 793 were put in special camps.
Meetings with ISIS…
In the camp, it was informed that 59-year-old Abu Kewser Suri, who was said to have established ISIS systems and supervised by ISIS founder leader Ebubekir El Bagdadi, was elected as the prison commander (responsible). It is claimed that Parastin member Qasım Lenci Zêbari, who is in charge of the ISIS desk, visited the camp every day and met with ISIS executives on issues that were not disclosed. During the meetings, Zêbari, has reportedly told the ISIS members that “we expect the information from the Parastin’ senior management. After that, you will be released.”
While the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) is conducting cross-border operations in Federated Kurdistan, it remains suspicious that ISIS members are taken to a special camp, and are now being told that they will be released soon.
A comfortable camp…
It was claimed that 793 ISIS members living in the Federated Kurdistan Region were living in a “comfortable camp” during the establishment of international DAESH courts for the thousands of ISIS members captured by the Democratic Syrian Forces (QSD) in northern and eastern Syria.
In the prisons in the region, due to lack of space, forensic and political detainees are kept in the same place, treatment facilities are not provided, 70 people were kept in conditions of 20 people, “the reason is that the comfortable camps were provided to ISIS instead” it was said.
In the camp, ISIS residents told that there are specially designed halls and gardens for sports, prayer, reading, watching TV, making their own meals, and going out to common areas for education.
