Isolation Being Reimposed Since Elections, Visit Applications Continue to be Rejected

Peoples’ Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s brother, Mehmet Öcalan, and his guardian Mazlum Dinç’s application to the Bursa Public Prosecutor’s Office on Monday to go to İmralı was rejected. Likewise, other prisoners in Imrali; Hamili Yildirim’s brother Polat Yildirim, Omar Hayri Konar’s sister Emin Konar and Veysi Aktas’ sister Sabiha Aslan’s application was rejected.

The Prosecutor’s Office rejected the applications on the grounds of al restrictions on convicts in the Law on the Execution of Criminal and Security Measures No. 5275 ”.

Ömer Hayri Konar and Veysi Aktaş have not been able to meet their families since seeing them for the first time on June 5, 2019 after beig taken to Imrali island on June 15, 2015.
