HPG Press Liaison Center (BIM) made a written statement, on July 19 sharing that the invading Turkish army attacked the area between Kortê and Horsel villages of Lice district of Amed. As a result of these actions Agit Soro (Celal Gok) and Çivgeç Yılmaz (Cihan Koyuncu) were martyred.
HPG BİM said in a statement: At 12.30 on 19 July, the combat aircraft belonging to the occupying Turkish army bombed the area between Kortê and Horsel villages of the Lice district of Amed. Following the attack of warplanes, the attack helicopters bombed the area at 13.30. In these bombings, our friends Agit (Celal Gök) and Yılmaz (Cihan Koyuncu) reached martyrdom.

Our friend Agit Soro was born and raised in Amed’s matriotic culture and witnessed the enemy reality at an early age. Comrade Agit, seeing the special war policies implemented by the fascist Turkish state, especially on the people of Amed, joined the guerrilla ranks in 2014.
Coming with the matriotic culture he gained from society and the revolutionary culture of the party, Comrade Agit soon gained an exemplary militant stance. Comrade Agit, who actively fought against the invaders in many areas, has worked hard for the freedom of the Kurdish people until his martyrdom.
Our friend Yılmaz Çavresh was born in 1992 in Amed in a matriotic environment. Seeing the concept of denial and extermination of the occupied Turkish state towards the Kurdish people, our friend Yılmaz went to deep inquiries. Following these internal interrogations, he refused to accept the policies of surrender and destruction of the Kurdish people and joined the guerrilla ranks in 2015, when the attacks were intensified.
Since the first day of his participation, he has adapted to the conditions in the mountains early and has been actively involved. Comrade Yılmaz, known for his loyalty to his comrades and self values, has won the love of his friends around him. He has been an exemplary militant who fulfils his duties and responsibilities in the best way in his struggle journey from Media Defense Areas to Botan and from Botan to Amed. ”
