HPG Press Liaison Center (BIM) made a written statement that the invading Turkish army bombed civilian settlements in Southern Kurdistan and injured two citizens in the attacks.
HPG BİM statement: “On July 19 at 00.10, the occupying Turkish army carried out bombings with fighter jets to the Maxmur Martyr Rustem Cudi camp. The occupying Turkish state bombed the areas in which the people of Maxmur resided, and as a result of these bombings 2 people were injured and the vineyards and gardens of the people were seriously damaged.
Those who organized this attack against the people of Maxmur, who resisted and fought against ISIS, the plague of all humanity, have no difference from the ISIS mentality. These people, who repulsed ISIS attacks and prevented the occupation of Basurê Kurdistan, resisted on behalf of all humanity. It is clear that these attacks against the people who protect Maxmur and Bashur Kurdistan from the occupation of ISIS will remain under suspicion unless the UN, Iraqi government and Kurdistan Regional Government make convincing statements on the issue. While the Iraqi airspace is under the control of the Iraqi state and coalition forces, the UN has the responsibility to protect the camp.
In this period when the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle is at a historical stage, the AKP-MHP fascist coalition is hostile to the Kurdish people and develops vicious attacks. This attack on our people, the matriotic Maxmur, a refugee camp that has escaped the persecution of the Turkish Republic, has once again revealed the true face of the invaders. The fascist Republic of Turkey, which does not accept a single value of Kurds anywhere, produces various excuses and organizes these vile attacks. This attack on the Maxmur camp is an attempt to break the will of the Kurdish people. It should be known by everyone that this mindset will attack the Kurdish people. We wish an urgent recovery to our injured people in this lowly attack.
VEHICLES OF THE PEOPLE TARGETED
On July 18, between 17: 00-18: 00, the combat aircraft belonging to the invading Turkish army carried out an air raid on the village of Sipindare of Duhok’s Çemanke sub-district. 3 civilian people were wounded in this attack where 2 vehicles belonging to the villagers were targeted and bombed.
In this area where our guerrilla does not have any military activity, the occupying Republic of Turkey has consciously targeted civilian people. With these attacks, the occupying forces want to intimidate and surrender the people of Kurdistan.
We wish a fast recovery to the wounded people in this attack and express once again that we will make the fascist mentality pay for the attacks on innocent civilian populations.”
