HPG Press Liaison Center (BİM), who made a statement regarding the guerrilla actions, stated that 9 invading Turkish soldiers were killed in the action organized against the Turkish army in Gever within the scope of Martyr Bager and Martyr Ronya Revolutionary Movements.
HPG BİM’s statement is as follows:
“Within the scope of Martyr Bager and Martyr Ronya Revolutionary Movements, our forces organized an effective action against the occupation operation of the invading Turkish army in Hakkari. The details of this action, which the occupants suffered heavily, are as follows:
The invading Turkish army had started an operation in the Geliyê Doski area of Gever (Yüksekova) district of Hakkari. The occupying soldiers settled in the village of Berdereşê in the area and carried out positioning work. After a period of surveillance of the invaders ‘mobility, our forces organized an action aimed at the soldiers’ positions and shelters on July 23rd at 19.30.
In this action, where enemy positions and shelters were put under intense fire from two arms, a targeted enemy building was destroyed, and an armoured vehicle that was effectively hit received heavy blows. As a result of this action, 9 soldiers were killed and many soldiers were wounded.
Following the action, the invading Turkish army made a set-down in the vicinity of the village of Berdereşê with Skorsky helicopters. While the invading Turkish soldiers tortured the shepherds in the vicinity of the village, they blocked the entrances and exits of the region.
TURKISH ARMY STARTED AN OPERATION IN GEVER
On July 26 (today) at 08.30 the occupying Turkish army launched an operation in the area of Pagenkê and Kavlegundê villages of Gever district of Hakkari. Details of the ongoing operation will be shared with the public as soon as they are obtained.
TURKISH ARMY’S BOMBARDMENT DAMAGED GOODS
The occupying Turkish army bombed the Kani Sarkê village area of Bergare in Bergare from the Media Defense Areas on July 25 between 19.00 and 19.30. While there was no loss in these bombings, material damage occurred in the vineyards and gardens of the local people. ”
