HPG BİM announced that a series of actions were carried out in response to the attack organized in collaboration with local agents on 5 July that the caused the martyrdom of KCK Presidency Council member Helmet and his comrades Şahin and Devran.
Description of HPG-BİM:
1. On 5 July, as a result of the attack carried out by the Turkish agents in the Kandil region of the Media Defense Areas, the invading Turkish state warplanes martyred our comrade Helmet, a member of the KCK Presidency Council, and our comrades Şahin and Devran who joined the caravan of immortal martyrs.
Comrade Helmet, who had been fighting in the ranks of the PKK for 25 years, had an important place in the PKK. Comrade Helmet, the brave son of the people of Southern Kurdistan, has carried out all kinds of revolutionary tasks for the freedom and national unity of the Kurdish people along the line of Apoist militancy and has given valuable labour.
This attack is undoubtedly an attack against the leadership line and the national unity of our people. Comrade Helmet is a pioneer commander of ours, the struggle of the people of Kurdistan for national unity is a great and valuable struggle. The account of this vile and treacherous attack developed by the occupying Turkish army in cooperation with local collaborators will surely be paid for and the blood of our comrade will not be left on the ground. Comrade Helmet, with the great services he has provided for the struggle for the Democratic Middle East and Free Kurdistan, will surely be kept alive in our struggle and memory.
On this basis, we commemorate the pioneer commander and the great revolutionary Comrade Martyr Helmet (Dîyar Xerib Muhammad) and the comrades Şehit Şahin and Martyr Devran, the valuable militants of our party, with deep respect, love and gratitude, and wish our condolences to their esteemed families and matriotic Kurdish people.
2. In response to the vile attack of the invading Turkish state and local collaborators, our forces organized effective actions against the occupying Turkish army in many areas in the memory of Comrade Helmet and his two friends. In this context:
– Within the framework of the Martyr Bager and Martyr Ronya Revolutionary Assault, our forces, on July 9 at 08.00 hours in the town of Hakkari against the occupation of the Turkish army. The organised action took the form of a sabotage tactic.
One of the targeted enemy vehicles was completely destroyed and the other vehicle was hit. 1 lieutenant and 1 corporal were killed and 2 soldiers were wounded. Following the action, howitzer, mortar and cobra-type helicopters randomly bombed the field of action and the invading Turkish army removed the dead and wounded soldiers from the area with skorsky helicopters.
Within the scope of the move, our forces organized an action against the occupying Turkish army located in Deriyê Cafer area of Gever (Yüksekova) district of Hakkari on July 8 at 19.40. Five enemy soldiers were killed in this action where enemy positions and shelters were intensively fired from two separate branches.
– The invading Turkish army has been building a security point at the entrance to the Özalp district of Van for a while. Our forces organized an action in the framework of the Martyr Media Mawa and Martyr Rızgar Gever Revenge in the Botan field on 6 July for the police who tried to secure this ongoing construction. 2 police officers were killed and 3 police officers were wounded in this action in which a police group was targeted and shot.
Our forces carrying out all 3 actions have reached the base areas in a solid way.
3. In the morning of 5 July, the occupying Turkish army launched an operation in the villages of Berdereş, Babawa and Sêguza in the Geliyê Doski area of Gever, a district of Gever (Yüksekova) district of Hakkari. The operation which was started in the area is still ongoing.
4. On 1 July the occupying Turkish army launched an operation in the rural district of Dörtyol, Hatay. On July 2, between the Ovacık and Tokdağ highlands, our forces came across the unit of the invading Turkish army and entered into conflict. During the intense clashes, many enemy soldiers were killed and wounded.
A friend who fought heroically until the last bullet against enemy troops in the clash reached martyrdom.
At 17.30 on the same day, our forces carried out an action aimed at a unit of the operation. The enemy unit was under intense fire and the number of dead and wounded soldiers could not be determined. The operation, which was partially withdrawn on July 8, continues with the compasses of the secret troops in the area.
The identity information of our friend who reached martyrdom during the operation will be shared with the public later.
At around 4:30 pm on 7 July, the invading Turkish army carried out air strikes on the Yünsun plateau area of the Kırıkhan district of Hatay. We did not suffer any loss in these attacks.
The invading Turkish army shared the false news that three of our friends were martyred in the operations and attacks, spread by the pit media. In the clash that took place on 2 July, there was no loss except one of our friends who reached martyrdom.
5. On 9 July, the combat aircraft belonging to the invading Turkish army bombed the Stuna area of the Metina area from the Media Defense Areas at 09.00, around the village of Silane in the Heftanin area and the Xantur area at around 19.00. While there was no loss in these bombings, material damage occurred in the vineyards and gardens of the local people.
