The Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Youth Assembly has recently issued a written statement on the detention and assault of its members by police officers and the imposition of spies. In the statement, it was pointed out that the activities of the Youth Assembly should be criminalized, it is stated that no democratic and legal actions and activities are allowed and there is continuous intervention.
It is obvious that we were attacked consciously
Seven young people from the HDP Adana Youth Assembly were recently arrested in an incident where the Cizre Youth Assembly members had attended the football tournament organised by themselves for the youth. The District Governor, who had interfered, provoked and threatened the youth participating in the football tournament.
“There is absolutely no acceptable side to these printing and fascist applications. It is clear that the government has deliberately attacked the HDP Youth Councils. The main reason for this attack on our Youth Assemblies is the fear of an organized, thinking, scrutinizing youth who is aware of its own value and reality. Because the existence of an organized youth that develops in this direction means the existence of a strong sociality and such a situation does not work in the interest of the AKP-MHP fascist power.
As HDP Youth Assemblies, we will continue our way by strengthening our organized struggle against all oppression and fascist practices. Because we have an organized and rooted tradition of struggle. Because we, from the Kurdistan region of Turkey, organized and trained thousands of people, we are continuing this fight as the faithful insurgents and young people aware that we inherit a legacy.”
Those before us did not bend
Our predecessors never yielded to fascist practices; No one doubts that we will continue this tradition. We will continue our efforts to organize house-to-house, street-by-street, neighbourhood to neighbourhood. Because our streets, neighborhoods, universities, cities, all our living spaces are ours, and we do not want oppressive, monist fascist practices here.
Organisational practices will increase
We call on all young people to organize under the roof of the HDP Youth Councils in order to fight against assimilation policies, drugs and all kinds of degenerative and dirty policies in our living spaces. Once again, we will continue to increase our stubborn organized struggle against pressures and fascist policies. Policies that try to dissolve and destroy HDP Youth Assemblies with fascist practices will be wasted as usual.
We call on the powers to give up these futile efforts, and no fascist mentality will destroy our organized and faithful struggle. ”
