The PKK Executive Committee Member and People’s Defense Center Headquarters Commander Murat Karayılan sent two separate letters to the KDP; one to former PM Mesut Barzani and the second to present PM Nechirvan. The contents of the letter are regarding the occupation operation launched by the invading Turkish state in South Kurdistan in line with the cooperation of the KDP.
Letter from the Karayilan to the KDP
Allegedly, in a letter sent by Karayilan, it was disclosed that four agents of the KDP were arrested and are being held in the prisons of the PKK on the grounds of collaboration, and have confessed to having been involved in the martyrdom of many guerrillas.
“We arrested four members of the KDP for acting as agents. These agents have their hands dirty in the martyrdom of many guerrillas. They confessed that these have been carried out under the command of Nechirvan and Mesut Barzani. The agents said that the occupation operations against the Guerilla and Basur of Kurdistan were carried out in cooperation with KDP and the Republic of Turkey.”
The confessors disclosed that “there were commands from Nechirvan and Mesut Barzani and TC regarding the attacks we conducted towards the guerrillas. We were acting according to their instructions. We were working together and carrying out joint operations.”
In the letter, Murat Karayılan said that “the KDP and TC joint operations are very dangerous, the KDP should respond to this letter.”
‘Confirmed KDP Agents’
Mesut Barzani and Nechirvan Barzani, who allegedly responded to the letter sent, said: “It is true that the four agents arrested are KDP members. However, the spying is contrary to the principles of Mele Mustafa Barzani. If they’re spies, they’re on their own. The KDP administration is unaware of these four agents. KDP management is unaware of the activities of the agents.”
