HPG Press Liaison Center (BIM) made a written statement, sharing details about the actions organized by HPG guerrillas and the attacks of the Turkish army.
HPG BİM stated:
“At night, on July 9, our forces organized action against the Tepê Hizan police station in the Lice district of Amed. The number of dead and wounded soldiers could not be determined in this action where the enemy positions and shelters on the hill were effectively shot.
Following the action, the invading Turkish army, which started an operation in the area, deliberately fired at the forested areas. The operation was withdrawn from the site on the same day without results.
CONFLICT IN THE SCOPE OF THE OPERATION: 1 GUERRILLA FELL MARTYR
At about 9.30 pm the Turkish army started an operation in the Dıgılhêva, Koçeran and Banê Dêran areas of the Lice district of Amed. The invading forces intensively bombed the operation area with attack helicopters. Our friend Mervan was injured in these bombings.
There was an intense clash between the invaders who landed with Skorsky helicopters and our friend Marwan fell martyr in the morning of July 10th.
In these clashes, our friend Mervan, who sacrificed himself against the enemy, killed 7 enemy soldiers including 1 captain of the enemy unit. Putting up heroic clashes up to the last bullet, comrade Mervan pulled the pin of his bomb, himself to avoid falling into the hands of the enemy.
Following heavy blows, the enemy wounded two civilians in the region and burnt the vineyards of the people.

Comrade Mervan was born in 1991 in a matriotic family in Amed. Comrade Mervan, who has been confronted with the enemy reality in Kurdistan every day since his childhood, has never accepted this persecution of the Kurdish people. The comrade who was constantly in search of struggle participated in youth work during his university years and actively participated in the struggle in the years to follow.
Comrade Mervan, after a while, joins the guerrilla ranks in 2013 for a more active struggle. Our comrade Mervan, which has been integrated with the mountain conditions since his first day in the fields of freedom, has taken his place in the heart of all comrades with his determined stance in life, labour and smiling face. He has taken carefree life and played important roles in his pioneering mission.
Comrade Mervan, who has been fighting against the enemy for a long time in the Media Defense Areas, gives his direction to the land of his birth, Amed. Comrade Mervan, who has completed all the duties and responsibilities that he has fought in Amed with a sacrificial spirit, has been the owner of valuable labour.
Comrade Mervan, heroically resisted the enemy on July 10 and fought against them till his last bullet with a sacrificial spirit, hit the enemy with heavy blows. Comrade Mervan, who did not give passage to the enemy even in the most difficult conditions, became the name of sacrificial participation.
We would like to express our gratitude to all the matriotic Kurdistan people, especially the esteemed family of our comrade Mervan who reached the martyrdom.
BOMBARDMENT IN CUKURCA
On 8 July, between 08.00 and 09.00, the occupying Turkish army bombed the Deşta Xanê area of the Çelca district of Hakkari with combat aircraft and attack helicopters.
In these bombings, three of our friends reached martyrdom. The identity information of our friends who reached the martyr will be shared with the public later.
The occupation forces of the invading Turkish army’s oepration continues from the Media Defense Areas in the Xakurkê region. The fascist Turkish army, which tried to expand the scope of the occupation, bombed the Coordinated Hill and the Qebra Zahir area from 12 pm on 13 July to 02.30 pm and made Skorsky helicopters.
We did not experience any loss in the bombings.
On July 12, warplanes belonging to the Turkish occupying Turkish army bombed the Deşta Kafya area of the Gare Defense Zone from 14.00 hours and the Arıs Farıs area of the Avaşin area at 20.00.
We did not suffer any loss in these bombings. ”
