HPG Press Liaison Center (BIM) made a written statement about the actions carried out against the invading Turkish soldiers in Xakurke. HPG BİM reported that 7 invading Turkish soldiers were killed in the actions.
Description of HPG
Within the framework of the Martyr Bager and Martyr Ronya Revolutionary Assault, in the Media Defense Areas, our forces have organized effective actions in many areas against the occupying Turkish army in the Xakurkê region. In this context:
On July 13, while the occupying Turkish army was trying to land on the Koordine Hill, a sabotage action was taken by our forces. In this action, the enemy unit was targetted, 2 invading soldiers were killed.
On July 15, at 09.30, our forces organized an action against the positions and shelters of the occupying Turkish army. On the hill, a container belonging to the invaders was hit by our forces. Four enemy soldiers were killed in this action, where the container was completely destroyed.
On July 15, at 13.00, a sabotage action was taken against the troops of the invading Turkish army, which tried to land on the Helicopter Hill. The number of dead and wounded soldiers in this action, where many enemy soldiers were targeted and shot, could not be determined.
On July 16th (today) at 08.00, our forces targeted the enemy unit on the Martyr Derwêş Hill for the second time. One enemy soldier was killed in this action, in which soldiers trying to remain positioned were shot with assassination weapons.
2. On July 7, the occupying Turkish army carried out an operation with the support of unmanned aerial vehicles in Deriyê Gabar district of Şırnak’s Gabar area. The invading Turkish army bombed the area with warplanes at about 13.00 on the same day.
In this attack, our comrade Çekdar (Mehmet Şirin Arslan) reached martyrdom. In this operation, the invading Turkish army shared the information that two of our friends reached martyrdom with the public. In this attack, comrade Çekdar was the only friend who was martyred. The other friends have reached their base areas.

Comrade Çekdar was born in 1986 in a matriotic environment in Mardin. Comrade Çekdar, who witnessed the genocide policies of the enemy towards the Kurdish people at a young age, entered into a deep concentration against these practices of the enemy. Comrade Çekdar joined the Freedom Movement in 2005 against this mentality, which could not tolerate anything Kurdish.
Comrade Çekdar who has been carrying out his duties with great devotion in many areas since the first day he participated, played an active role in a resistance extending from Zagros to Botan. Comrade Çekdar has worked in the Zagros for many years; he has made a significant contribution to the achievements against the enemy in this field.
In 2009, Comrade Çekdar, who headed to Botan, came to the Media Defense Areas in 2013 after 4 years of struggle. Comrade Çekdar, who worked for a period in the Media Defense Areas, returned to Botan again in a period when occupation attacks intensified in 2015 and took his place in the resistance against the genocidal war waged by TC in Kurdistan.
Comrade Çekdar, who accomplished all his duties with complete and superior success, has been an exemplary pioneer militant and commander in every field he has stayed. Comrade Çekdar has gained a great place in the hearts of his comrades with his labour and stance, he has been our comrade who fought against the enemy in the Gabar area where he was last in charge.
3. On 1 July the occupying Turkish army launched an operation in the Yayladere, Şehit Hesen, Lameç, Şevdin and Barav areas of Bingöl. In this operation, which continued until July 10, enemy forces withdrew from these areas without any result.
