The Turkish occupation operation was started on June 30 with the participation of invading gendarmerie and special operations police in the region covering Tepe, Sığaklık, Dallıca, Budak, Kutlu neighbourhoods of Lice district of Amed.
Search points and checkpoints were created in the region where the operation is being conducted. With the support of Helicopters and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), 452 citizens were passed through GBT checks while 96 vehicles were searched.
The occupation operation carried out in the region was terminated at 22.00 on 2 July. Amed occupying Governor’s Office made a statement about the operation, a total of 15 different sizes of caves under the rock blocks in the region was destroyed and made unusable.
The named excuse for the destruction of 15 natural caves was that they were used in the winter by illegal organisations.
