The concept of economics is one of the most spoken and up-to-date issues in today’s world. Again, social events, ecological problems, nuclear weapons, and wars, continues to be a concept that is one of the most basic issues. Hunger, unemployment, debt, bank, stock market, human health, and life-threatening events, rape, theft, money, capital, corruption and so many other similar words are used in our lives. Every day, when we look at the media channels without exception, we encounter events where such words are spoken. Indeed, it is undoubtedly the economic power in the hands of the monopolistic capitalists that turns into the game instrument of the capitalist system.
Today, the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of the economy is money. Money turns like the Bermuda triangle in all areas of life. People can no longer even breathe without money, even the water that nature has given, human beings cannot drink without any money. Everything, especially the economy, has been transformed into a profit-capital instrument and has been turned into a material for operating capitalism.
Human labor is measured by money. The work of a farmer working in the field and a woman who feeds and grows children at home, organizes and puts life into order is not even considered as labor. Since the phenomenon of labor is identified with money, it is known as those who work according to the capitalist system, those who only serve the state, the capitalists, receive only money in return.
At thirty-five degrees Celsius, below the sun’s temperature, a woman working in the field, twenty-four hours a day has engaged in household chores, giving birth to children and being a nurturing mother, again; pastures and livestock grazing, for the sale of demanded goods and products for the sale of market trades. In short, this what people do is not labor. It is a history, a culture, a value created by cracked, calloused hands, gained with sweat and light of the eye.
The owners of real labor and economy are women, farmers, shepherds, craftsmen, and small-scale traders, as Leader APO states. In fact, the economist; is the woman herself. It is the woman, the mother-goddess, who first deals with agriculture and gathering, organizes sociality around herself, develops the culture of gifts first, and brings life to a whole system.
So why did they fall out of the economy when they were the real owners? Again, when the economy is the field of the society’s natural nurturing of its material and spiritual needs, what has become of an institution that now exploits societies? This is not the economy that is stolen from society in general, but from women in particular.
The economy, stolen from the hand of the mother-goddess who fell under the grip of a liar and cruel man, has been transformed into a monster that destroys the entire universe, not in nature, but in the hands of monopolistic capitalists. We cannot identify the economy with money or capitalism. The economy is neither capitalism nor Euro, promissory note, stock exchange, interest, etc. These are card games; the kind which has been turned into a monster that has nothing but to make peoples and societies confused, narrow, and helpless, and even threatens to kill and destroy people (one of the most basic capital areas of the capitalist economy is the production and trade of nuclear and chemical weapons).
By definition, the economy includes a universal concept. In economics-Ekonomos, the Greek word defined as home law-environmental law. It has a relationship with sociality, meaning as the most basic activity of society, from the beginning of sociality, women have led the way in attracting and organizing economic life. The era we call to prove this is the Neolithic. A stance, gaze, and existence in the life of every living thing constitute a balance. This is also the case for the first human communities. In the beginning, they search for a suitable place for shelter and then seek hunting and gathering for feeding.
Nutrition is an economic activity, an act of fulfilling the obligatory financial needs of societies. The first human community that lived in the form of clans was the most striking point in the feeding order provided by agro-gathering and hunting, of course, to establish a communal, collective, common order. Everything is for clan society. The collected products belong to everyone and there is no individuality or selfishness. ‘Private property, that is mine, is my property’ such words do not exist. Whatever it is, it’s all of ours. The essence of moral and political society is revealed in this lifestyle. The most basic economic activity of that period was the immediate distribution of the collected product.
Under the leadership of the woman-mother goddess, this sharing is the essence of women’s economy. Gift culture is an economic activity of this period. Collected products are distributed by giving gifts without accumulating. This gift culture is not a simple event that we know. Gift culture is a tool in developing human relations such as neighborhood, friendship, kinship, feeling, spirit and respect for each other, which organizes being a community. There is also a supply-demand relationship in the capitalist economy. It withdraws the product from the market and accumulates it. I mean, there’s an accumulation thing, but why? And for whom? Of course for monopolistic capitalists. For capitalism to strengthen itself.
It is the law of supply and demand in an area where the capitalist economy finances itself. Producing goods to the market and the consumer withdrawing goods from the market is a systematic game. And with this game, societies, even countries, are left unresolved by being dragged into crisis. The sole purpose of the capitalist economy is to make societies and countries dependent on it with its own system. Similar culture and tradition still exist in some countries, especially in Kurdistan. This is undoubtedly proof that natural society has not completely disappeared. People know each other’s needs and organize their lives in common, collective solidarity. Women are more creative, organizing, selfless and sensitive in socialization. In this sense, the real economy is the sum of the values that are created by society and developed by women.
If so, it must be retained and put into the service of the community. As in history, let’s create our own economy. We have more possibilities for this as long as we know how to organize. For example, the area on which we can carry out the most basic economic activity is, of course, agricultural areas. Growing and benefiting from organic products is important both for health and for the integration of human beings with soil and for the development spiritually, emotionally, physically and spiritually. We know that the concrete mindset of the capitalist system wants to turn the world into a concrete pile. With the monopolistic capitalist forces that have taken the monster of industrialism behind, there is no limit to the damage it causes to ecology today. They could not tolerate a piece of green space in nature and turned every place into plazas and towers. There is no soil area to be cultivated. Everywhere is a pile of concrete surrounded by skyscrapers and towers. How do you think the mood of a person whose hands, feet do not step on the soil, do not touch the greenery, develops? Undoubtedly, it becomes an insensitive, uncaring, individualistic and selfish personality, far from sociality and love. The capitalist system uses the economy in this way to destroy conscientious and moral feelings in society.
Therefore, we must immediately intervene in this crazy ambition of the capitalist economy and make the struggle universal. Especially women who are the real owners of the economy should be able to operate in an organized and effective manner. From its own home economy to its full supply of vital needs, it must uphold its own labor in the first place.
In the reconstruction of the Democratic Nation Revitalizing the agricultural culture in the projects of returning to the village is primarily the main task of women. As village-agriculture culture develops, we can revive the social spirit and communal-economic life and accelerate the implementation of the projects we put in front of us. Society, especially women, should cease to be the capital of the capitalist economy and develop its own democratic and communal economic fields.
Every human being has the remains of natural society; land, animal love, gifts, and neighborhood. Especially in the peoples of Kurdistan, this cultural tradition is obvious. In short, we already have a people reality that is intertwined with nature and soil. However, despite the increase in social sensitivity in Kurdistan and the development at the level of revolution, serious steps have not been taken in these matters, and this leads to a waste of time in the construction of ecological-economic society. It is the duty and responsibility of all non-governmental organizations, municipalities, parties and village-neighborhood councils to build the new by exceeding this.
First of all, we should organize commune and cooperatives in order to find a solution to unemployment and hunger in Kurdistan. If we do not organize communes and cooperatives in any social living conditions, society can never achieve the welfare, peace and moral and political society that it wants. Sociality means commune, commune means sociality. Incorporating communal living-communality into all spheres of life will lead to the emergence of a democratic style and the development of ground for moral-political society.
