As is known, long-term hunger has a great impact on the health of people; the termination of hunger strike actions comes with great risks. Hunger strike insurgents need to undergo certain treatment until they reach the right conditions to eat. A special medical check-up is necessary to prevent deterioration of their health status.
When we look at the dungeons of Turkey, we see a system that is constantly striving to cause physical damage. The insurgents who showed great resistance, are being attacked in many different practices, by the fascist Turkish states as a means of revenge for the defeat they faced. During the 80s,90s, and 2000s, the fascist Turkısh state commonly applied wrong treatments to specific categories of prisoners, leaving the prisoners disabled.
The brain takes the most damage during hunger strikes. During the strike, the insurgents caught the Wernicke Korsakof disease because they were only given limited doses of the B1 vitamin they required. As there has always been oppression in Turkeys Dungeons, there has always been hunger strike actions. Nearly 1,000 insurgents suffered various illnesses because they were not treated after the hunger strike. Again, consciously, glucose-containing sera were given to the insurgents, causing death or severe injury. The number of insurgents living in this situation is not such a number to be underestimated, some insurgents have been martyred like this.
Now they want to cripple the hunger strike and death fast insurgents who have resisted for nearly 200 days with wrong, unethical treatment methods like in the past. According to the report of the Human Rights Association, there is a risky situation in many prisons. It has been revealed that in some prisons the insurgents were not even taken to the hospital, in others they were taken, like in the Sakran Prison, but they used wrongful treatment by poisoning the insurgents.
In addition to the conditions of the occupied Turkish state prisons, it is a problem in itself that they do not comply with the words of the doctors who have sworn alleged Hippocratic oaths. In addition, when the Turkish state suffers a defeat, its approach to prisons changes. The provision of handcuffed treatment to insurgents, treatment in prison, not giving the required food and drink will bring great risks with them.
Resistance against these fascist practices and policies should be approached with the same sentiment in the same way as the insurgents were protected by the peoples. The follow-up of the treatment should be continued not only by the institutions but also by the public. Just as the insurgents have been protected against these dirty policies during the hunger strike process, they should now be held with the same determination. The treatment processes should be followed not only by institutions and associations but also by the public. When there is a mistake in approaching the children of this geography, a reflection should be placed there.
For insurgents who take such a sacrificial action to abolish the isolation of an integrated society, we must be with them with all our means to prevent martyrdom and disease in such a process.
On the day of the hunger strike, the fascist Turkish state in Xelfeti also tortured dozens of citizens, again bombing the media defenses, and from these two examples, we can imagine how the fascist state would approach the insurgents. When we look at history, there are many such prefixes.
Therefore, it is necessary to protect the insurgents more than ever.
