DÊRİK
Thousands of people in Girké Legê, Çilaxa and Til Koçer districts gathered in Dêrik and marched towards Semalka Border Gate to protest the attacks of the invading Turkish state against Başurê Kurdistan and the silence of KDP.
During the march in which the banner with the words ‘No to the Turkish state’s invasion of Southern Kurdistan’ was carried at the forefront, slogans were frequently shouted condemning the occupation and the silence of the Southern Kurdistan government.
The march in which the people’s reaction against the occupation was shouted turned into a rally at the Sêmalka Border Crossing. Speaking to the Congress, Perwîn Yûsif, a member of Star Coordination, said, “The mountains of Kurdistan are the homeland of the Kurds. The Turkish state cannot be allowed to occupy these places.”
Perwîn stated that the government of Southern Kurdistan remained silent against the occupation attacks in line with its interests and reacted to the dirty relations of the regional government with the Turkish state.
Dêrik Regional Council Co-Chairman Abdulrehim Mihemed stressed that the struggle against the forces that are hostile to the Kurdish people will be increased. Mihemed pointed out the attacks of the Turkish state against different peoples and beliefs, especially Efrîn, and said that the people in Kurdistan should resist the invasion of the Turkish state in four parts of Kurdistan.
The action ended with slogans.
