The Peoples Leader Abdullah Ocalan sent a note on hunger strikes, during a meeting with his lawyers on 12 June, in which he said:
I especially wish that the comrades who live deeply in this process will take care of themselves physically, mentally and spiritually. I wish success on the basis of the lessons learned from the necessary criticism and self-criticism process. ”
Lawyers of the Asrın Law Office Rezan Sarıca and Nevroz Uysal went to İmralı on 12 June and held a meeting with their client, the Peoples Leader; the law office made a written statement about the meeting. The Bureau also shared a brief message of The Peoples Leader with the public. The message is as follows:
“As the Law Office, we held a meeting with our client Mr. Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı Island Prison on Wednesday, June 12th within the scope of his legal rights. In this meeting, Mr. Öcalan expressed his thanks and greetings to the hunger strike and death fast activists who ended their actions as per his demand. He has sent a letter of thanks to them. In this process, Mr. Öcalan found the attitude of all the institutions and individuals who showed their reactions very valuable and sent his greetings and gratitude.”
In this interview with Mr. Öcalan, the following headings were briefly emphasized:
He reiterated his emphasis that strikes could be possible but should not be adopted as a basic method of struggle. He defined his own position, which he defined as the survival policy, as the defense of life against death and stated that the main thing is the struggle for survival, is survival.
THE STRUCTURE OF THE TRUTH OF LIFE
He emphasized the true value of life by giving an example that Hallacı Mansur did not give up his search for truth despite tragic death. In this respect, he stated that he will never give up the search for justice, freedom, and truth; despite the conditions in which he is present.
Mr. Öcalan expressed his observations on political and social problems and suggested solutions as much as possible in this meeting, in every opportunity.
We have again observed his persistent stance in the solution of democratic politics on the basis of honorable peace.
‘THE TURK CANNOT BE WITHOUT THE KURD, THE KURD CANNOT BE WITHOUT THE TURK’
As a historical indicator, Turks without Kurds, Turks without Kurts cannot exist; He stated that when the Kurds were finished in Mesopotamia, there would be nothing left in the name of Turkishness in Anatolia. He stressed that the existence and development of the Kurd are synonymous with the strengthening of the Turk and that it is necessary to act according to this reality.
He stated that this unity will pave the way for all Middle Eastern peoples to live in a democratic and peaceful way. Within the scope of the constitutional solution and legal changes, we found that it precedes the democratic solution. For this, he stated that democratic transformation and mentality can be achieved only with the participation of the whole society.
ANALYSIS OF DEMOCRATIC POLITICS
He stated that he observed an ideological and theoretical gap in the current political style and that it was not possible to make the right politics with the style of familyism, tribalism, and clanism, and that the main and analytic one was democratic politics. Referring to the Gandhi assessment he mentioned previously, he expressed the need to produce different civil and creative solutions.
With the democratic negotiation policy, he pointed out the need to develop methods of civil struggle with reason, political and cultural power and said that the basis for a democratic solution could be created in this way.
CANNOT BE SEPARATED
He also pointed out the importance of political understanding in Syria, which has the power to represent the integrity of Syria and emphasized the proposal of local democracy, which was a constitutional guarantee. Turkey and Syria are connected to the internal-external policy that cannot be considered separately from each other and that is assessing intertwined.
BASIC CRITICISM
In the face of the sensitivity of women in the struggle for free women, Özgecan’s murder, which he observed in the society, made some evaluations on the relationship between child brides and men and women. He underlined that women slavery, the absolute form of slavery, has been engaged in social genetics for fifteen thousand years since the Neolithic period. In this respect, the massacres against women are the product of the same mentality, therefore, the women’s orientation towards their fellow men made to themselves, emphasizing the need to act with this awareness.
He considered the existence of each of the social, economic and sociological problems as a matter of revolution and stated that he saw the existence of only the child-bride problem is a reason for ten revolutions. He dealt with the absence of a policy that could be a solution to these problems as a fundamental criticism. He expressed the need to develop democratic municipalism based on production, creativity, and construction in order to solve social problems and underlined the necessity of the HDP to play the role of democracy as a catalyst for these issues.
SOLUTION-ORIENTED
In addition, while evaluating some books and writers, he stated that he was based on socialism, that he developed construction against dogmatism, and in this sense, he focused on the Middle East perspective against real socialist approaches with a solution-oriented approach.
The Peoples Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s message to those who ended the hunger strike was called as follows:
“Dear Comrades; Conclude the hunger strike and death fast process you have entered upon my proposal; an attitude that has quite historical significance and meaning, and sees it as a high value in itself and thank you.

I would like to state that this attitude, which develops in line with personal initiative, should not be considered as a state-oriented attitude and concessions. But I maintain my belief that it will produce positive results based on my hope and intuition.
