As it must be disclaimed, the book ‘A revolutionary Approach to The Religion Problem’ is in its undeveloped, primitive form as self-criticized by the Peoples Leader, himself. These writings are not completely representative of the current stand of the PKK regarding the revolutionary approach to religion. There have been many developments released as part of defense writings ever since, due to constraints. Overall, the writings should be taken with a pinch of salt, as we continue to translate and analyze the topic.
Although to us religion seems a utopian approach, they do exist. So even if we ask why the gods need to be invented, let’s not be deluded that the gods of today’s world are different; the religion of our day is also different. We are going to try to explain them. Let us answer these questions by looking at the person in the conditions in which religion was created.
Indeed, at the time, the human being is so naked in terms of spirit, physically and thought, that he cannot speak two words, he is not cut to even bring two branches together; but he dares to think, he feels a tremendous shiver in his spirit. The concepts of righteousness, goodness, and beauty affect him. Then, this person has to travel a lot; he will have to be very careful with his life and will look upon it in the degree of holiness; and in my opinion, this immediately leads to a religious approach. religion is the form of thought and spiritual development that the human species first enters in the encounter with nature. Contact with nature, thought is the form in which contact with the universe occurs in our first person.
Therefore, one draws from this: Religion is as old as humanity, in fact, It is an integral part of humanity. Human existence is a religious entity; there is no society that does not recognize religion. They all have religion in their lives. Here, in addition to the thesis that today’s crude materialism denied and produced very troublesome conclusions, it is possible to overcome the position that leads to very sectarian and alienating approaches in the revolutionary struggles of the peoples, which regards religion with denial and denies its effects from the beginning to the present.
Religion should be regarded as an indispensable stage in the formation of humanity. The first human species has an important role in eliminating their weaknesses, feeding themselves spiritually, feeling strong and powerful. One feels powerful and strong; because “I have a god” he says. In other words, just as people today, feel strong and powerful when they say “I have principles” and live on the basis of these qualities, they do so in the past through God. Without this, the person cannot live. The man of that time has put a god in almost every force; among these, there are also elderly gods. The one with the greatest god – and this is the oldest tribe leader – will have sovereignty over the other tribes.
Saying, “My God is greater than others” leads to a sense of trust, a strength. It is a type without practical foundations, but because it holds, it is a force. In other words, with the phrase “using swords by taking refuge in God ”, he took refuge in this, hitting the sword more firmly. İt must be added that all of thought, is a bit like this.
Today, you are turning to the most powerful actions by taking refuge in forced thought, which means that religion, as a spiritual force, has indispensable importance for people, at first. This shouldn’t be underestimated. Mankind covers his enormous weakness, fears, and pains that exist against nature with this. Because the conditions are so hard on him; but on the other hand, to relieve him, the notion of religion and god immediately comes to the rescue and then plays as much a role in the development of man as the science of today.
Today, just as science has made our work easier, religions and gods have been so useful to man in the spiritual stage at that time. This is not a little support. Thus, the role of religion in the emergence of the human species is worth considering. Religion, the closure of all weaknesses, fears, worries to reach the social formation, the formation of popular clans and tribes of people and people of human species everywhere to say that human beings, national religions (which is very obvious in Judaism) and religions that concern all humanity as a higher stage has led to its emergence.
In spite of the fact that religions originate from weaknesses against nature, with the development of society and means of production, it is increasingly affected by nature and the negative conditions of nature. The long-term existence of society and the transformation of the human species into a social force has led to the transformation of religion.
