Located in the city of Bab, Şêx Eqîl Mountain has 150 households, a public hospital, a primary school, a mosque and a water reservoir that meets the needs of the whole city. After the occupation of the Turkish state, houses in the region were destroyed and replaced by military bases.
Due to the destruction of the water reservoir, the water requirement in the city cannot be met. As well as in all occupied areas, incidents, such as kidnapping, ransom, extortion, and so on, there are frequent, including explosions in the city. In protest, the people of the region poured to the streets yesterday, demanding that the invaders leave the region.
Dozens of people who refused that their homes on the Şêx Eqîl Mountains be converted into torture centers. They started to march by opening a banner with the words ‘Şêx Eqîl Mountain Is Ours’
The banners read in Turkish and Arabic, ‘the Turkish army destroyed the houses of the people of Şêx Eqîl Mountain. The people are homeless. They were forbidden to take their money and property. The people of Şêx Eqîl Mountain, which has a military base instead of their home, demand their compensation. Do you want the return of Cemal Pasha or Fatih Sultan Mehmet?’
The marchers shouted, ”Erdogan, listen, your army is cruel”, and ‘Shêx Eqîl is ours’.
It is stated that the people who react against the actions of the occupying Turkish state and their gangs will continue their actions.
