HANNOVER
26 folklore groups, including France and Switzerland, participated in the cultural Mihrican event on June 8-9. Folklore teams, after the walk to the Pavilion Cultural Center where the competitions will be held, made the draw. In the first day of events, Koma Cangori and Koma Mam Zeki children group, as well as Seyma Serhat and Dilana Roj Arya music groups took the stage.
‘RICH IN CULTURAL CULTURE AND FOLKLORE’
Bülent Turan and Xezal Aktaş made a speech on behalf of TEV-ÇAND after the minute silence for the martyrs. Turan stated that Kurdish culture and folklore are very rich and that this should be preserved and transferred to the next generations. It is our spirituality that will keep us alive and big said Turan, “this culture would be embraced by the young people in the hall”. Hosted by Hannover DKTM Co-op Ayfer Amara and Artist Civan Çewlik wished success.
CREATING A CULTURE RATHER THAN COMPETITION
Speaking on behalf of the jury, Yasin Boyraz, said “rather than the competition, our aim is to live culture and transfer to future generations” he said. The contestants performed in front of the jury for 10 hours.
- Dilana Roj Arya male group from Paris won the Amed region games and Dilana Roj Arya women group won the second place.
- Group Siyar, who joined the city of Salzgiter, Germany, came in third.
- Mihrican Costume Award was shared by Dilana Roj Arya men and women group and Govenda Baran, while Research Award was given to Govanda Baran folklore group from Cologne with folkloric compilation from Hakkari region.
- The special jury awards were given to Govenda Rengin from the city of Darmstadt and Koma Deran from the city of Linburg.
- Civa Chewlik gave the award of Koma Siyar group which was the third in the event.
The event ended with a concert by Serhado’s musical concerts as well as wind instruments teachers accompanying the teams on stage for two days. Within the scope of the event, the Hannover Halim Dener Initiative, Hannover YXK, and many cultural institutions opened stands to promote the Kurdish culture.
