MÖNCHENGLADBACH
Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger NRW organized a Culture and Sports Festival yesterday in Mönchengladbach, Germany to commemorate the Martyrs of May. Hundreds of Kurdistanis, as well as internationalists, attended the festival. At the festival, YXK opened a booth and displayed some of the latest publications and informed about their work.
Andok Tolhildan made the opening speech on behalf of TCŞ at the festival which started with a minute silence for the martyrs. In his speech, Andok talked about the great importance of May in Kurdistan and world revolutions and said the aim of the festival was to commemorate the martyrs who have fallen in May. At the end of his speech, Andok called on all Kurdish youths to fight for the freedom of Peoples’ Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
After the opening speech, the program continued with the children’s choir. Hozan Kawa, Hozan Lokman and Hozan Semdin took the stage as surprise performers. Kurdistanis and internationalists who participated in the festival played govend with the folk songs of the artists.
In the festival, where space was opened for children, the little guests spent most of their time in the balloon pool. In addition, egg and sack races were also held at the festival.
Welate Roja, Azadî Wuppertal, Enzigspor Velbert, Rojava Bonn, Welate Roj Mönchengladbach, Hevalspor 1 Euskirchen, Hevalspor 2 Euskirchen, Free Youth Gummersbach, Mesopotamia Essen, Amad Sports Attendorn and Amed 11 attended.
After the performances, the teams were divided into two groups, qualifying matches were played. Azadî Wuppertal, who won the match between Essen and later won the final round. Amed Spor, who did not see any cards during the tournament, was also given the Fair Play award.
