Şehit Kerim Kato Institute students within the body of Şehit Ferhat Kurtay Academy received their diplomas at a ceremony held at Şehit Rüstem Cudi (Mexmur) Refugee Camp.
Nasir Yagiz, who was on a hunger strike for 187 days against the isolation of Peoples’ Leader Abdullah Ocalan in Hewlêr, and Fadile Tok, a member of the Ishtar Assembly who stayed on a hunger strike for 127 days, attended the diploma ceremony.
The ceremony began with a moment of silence in memory of the martyrs of the revolution. Speaking at the ceremony, the Democratic People’s Assembly of Mexmur Camp Filiz Budak said, “If we want society to develop, we must first strengthen the education system. The future of society and the freedom of young people depends on the education system. Our children and young people are our future. For this people’s freedom, to reach a certain consciousness, to have the power of resistance and for the future of a political, moral and democratic education system must be based. ‘The children of Mexmur are my children,’ says Leader Apo. The children of Mexmur must be based on Apo’s moral, political, democratic and women’s libertarian paradigm. ”
Filiz Budak congratulated the students who received their diplomas and wished them success. HDP Member Nasır Yağız stated that they never stepped down in the resistance, they started with the motto “We will break the isolation, destroy fascism and live freely with Leader Apo in a free Kurdistan.” He said “I bow to the martyrs of Kurdistan with respect. Call on young people from all four parts of Kurdistan to strengthen their troops and protect their history and values. ”
Fadile Tok, a member of the Ishtar Assembly, who celebrated the feast of the Kurdish people, wished that the festival would be instrumental in the freedom of Öcalan. The diploma ceremony continued with the tunes of Artist Bermal Çem and Baran.
