HPG-BİM, in a written statement, commemorated two women guerrillas who reached martyrdom after being hit by the airstrikes of the occupying Turkish army. On April 8 the Media Defense Areas announced that two female guerrillas were martyred in the air strikes.
HPG-BİM stated:
The AKP-MHP fascist government, which accelerated the occupation war in Kurdistan in 2019, faced the historical resistance of the Kurdistan guerrilla. The heroic resistance of the Kurdistan guerrilla against the occupation operations has always been a defeat of Turkish fascism. The Apoist guardian resistance spirit that has emerged all over Kurdistan has destroyed the enemy’s plans of invasion of fascism by hitting historical blows to the enemy.
The architects of this historical resistance against AKP-MHP fascism are undoubtedly our heroic martyrs. One of the blows against the fascism of the enemy was Avzem Cihan Munzur and Kurdistan Delil comrades who reached martyrdom as a result of the air raid carried out by the invading Turkish army against the Media Defense Areas on 8 April.

The statement included information about the struggle life of both guerrillas and expressed their condolences:
Comrade Avzem Cihan Munzur was born in Dersim. Comrade Avzem grew up in an environment that protects her own social values against the dirty policies of the system on the basis of assimilating, genocide and destroying Dersims society. She knew the enemy reality closely. Comrade Avzem, who grew up in Dersim’s rebellious resilient social environment, started to take an interest in the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle from an early age. Comrade Avzem, who has been active in youth and social activities for a long time despite all the pressures and threats of the enemy, joined the guerrilla ranks from Dersim Mountains in 2013. Avzem, who joined the guerrilla ranks with his concise personality, soon became an effective guerrilla with her great anger towards the enemy.
Comrade Avzem, who is well-liked in her circle of comrades, has succeeded to become a model militant for us comrades with her sacrifice and effort. With Dersim’s rebellion tradition in her heart, Comrade Avzem was one of our hero comrades who showed that she would fight against the invading Turkish state at all costs.
Our comrade Kurdistan was born in 1992 in Hakkari in a matriotic environment. Comrade Kurdistan, who took her place in the fight against the invasion attacks against the Kurdish people in 2012, became an effective guerrilla in a short time.
Comrade Kurdistan, who actively participates in the struggle with her dynamic spirit and excitement in all its spheres, has fulfilled her duties in a complete manner. Comrade Kurdistan, who strengthens her comrades with her stance and labor, has become one of our comrades who fought heroically in the mountains of Kurdistan with a passion for freedom.
Starting with the Torun and Akdogan families, we would like to express our condolences to the matriotic people of Kurdistan. On this note, we renew our promises to the ideals of our struggle, the people of Kurdistan, that we will carry the aims of our martyrs to success.
