HPG reported that the guerrilla named Xemgin Setkar was martyred in the air strikes carried out by the invading Turkish army against the Media Defense Areas on May 26. As a result of an air raid on the Metina area from the Media Defense Areas by the occupying Turkish army on May 26, our esteemed comrade Xemgin Setkar (Abdullah Temel) reached martyrdom.

Xemgin (Abdullah Temel) is from Setkare village of Beytüşşebap. As a member of a family with a high matriotism in the Gravi tribe, our friend Xemgin comes from a family tradition that has been engaged in the struggle for freedom since the August 15th breakthrough.
In matriotism, Xemgin was one of the most committed to the revolution and martyrs, he was tortured by the police and gendarmerie terrorists of the colonial Turkish state and spent many years in dungeons. However, despite the heavy costs of the resistance line, he insisted on resistance and did not take a step back.
In the last 9 years, as a PKK militant and staff, he has taken his struggle to the next level and became a professional guerrilla. He has successfully served as a public relations commander in the areas of Metina and Haftanin. With his courage, honesty, patriotism and popular personality, he has gained a special place in the hearts of the people of the region.
Throughout his whole life and struggle, Botan has succeeded in reaching an exemplary revolutionary personality with a strong representation of matriotism, land and social values, leadership and martyrdom line of our region.
While conveying our condolences to all our matriotic Kurdistan people, especially the family of comrade Xemgin, we promise that we will be worthy by raising the values and the enthusiasm of revolution represented by comrade Xemgin to the higher level and will hold responsible the colonial Turkish state.
Botan and Behdinan call on our people to stand against the fascist, colonialist Turkish state and its collaborators by embracing the matriotic line of comrade Xemgin.
