HPG Press Liaison Center made a written statement about guerrilla actions. HPG gave the following details of the actions:
“The occupying Turkish army has been making traps with the support of the contras for a while in the area of Carchella in Gever (Yüksekova) district of Hakkari.
On June 18, our forces spotted a unit of enemies who made traps between the villages of Sêguza and Berdereşê near the Geliyê Doski area. This enemy unit, which had been under surveillance for a long time, was shot by our forces at 18.30 at close range. With the first fire, 4 soldiers in the enemy unit were killed. After a short time, intense clashes began between our forces and the invaders. Our friend Numan Sterk, who fought heroically against enemy troops, reached martyrdom.
Soldiers and contras coming to the battlefield as reinforcements were the targets of our forces and 4 of the enemy soldiers who were shot correctly were killed.
ULUDERE AND CRAT OPERATION
HPG stated that the occupying Turkish army started operation on Kanireş plateau located in Deriyê Qaçê district of the Qileban (Uludere) district of Şırnak on June 17 at 12.00. In the area, there were reports of abuse and torture.
HPG launched an operation in the area of Aşkita and Sulavê in Çatak district of Van and Paçan village in Gürpınar district on 05 June at 05.00. The partial on-going operation will be shared with the public as details are obtained.”
