HDP Law and Human Rights Commission Spokesperson and Batman MP Ayşe Acar Başaran held a press conference stating that: “The AKP-MHP coalition continues its policies of oppression and intimidation in all areas. Women and young people are the most exposed to these policies. ”
Ayse disclosed that 23 young people who are members of the HDP Youth Assembly in Adana were detained and subjected to police violence during home raids on Monday; “It should be known that these systematic attacks on youth and all opposition groups will not yield results.
Young people, who are detained by illegitimate methods and threatened with informal tricks, will be able to resist these practices as they did yesterday. Young people who take their power from long-term youth movements, democratic gains and righteous struggles will not step back in the face of these attacks.
In particular, young people who speak under the roof of the HDP, who struggle and who move to Parliament with their demands and representations cannot be intimidated by these attacks.”
