ISTANBUL
Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) organized an activity in Deniz Gezmiş Park in Ataşehir district within the scope of the election activities of İstanbul Provincial Youth Council.
HDP deputies Dersim Dağ, Mehmet Tiryaki, and Serpil Kemalbay and many representatives of the organization attended the event, which attracted great interest from the youth.
HDP Amed Deputy Dersim Dağ delivered his speech. Dag said that there was always oppression over the youth, and as HDP youth they are showing resistance to these oppressions everywhere. “Today, four parts of Kurdistan are engaged in destruction, denial and genocide policies. Assimilation policies are implemented especially on young people. They want to assimilate young people and keep them out of the struggle. Young people are also organizing against these policies. Youth facing prostitution and drugs should organize themselves. The state wants to take over society through youth. Because youth is the future of society. Young people are struggling against isolation, assimilation, and agency policies as always. ”
DAG: THE ISOLATION IS NOT AS STRONG
Saying that they lost 8 friends during the hunger strike and remembered them with respect, Dağ continued his words as follows:
“We cannot say that the hunger strike was completely broken down by the end of the resistance. Occasionally there is a meeting with Mr. Ocalan, but we do not know what the state will do. We have no evidence against these policies of power.
We were saying at that time that Mr. Öcalan is being isolated in the whole society. As a result of the resistance given, the negotiations were re-established with Mr. Öcalan. After the talks, Abdullah Öcalan’s voice reached to the society and it comforted society.”
Following the speeches, the event ended with the folk dances.
