We are nearing the 25th anniversary of the martyrdom of Halim Dener, who was shot and murdered by the German police in Hannover on 30 June 1994. A central march will be held on July 6 by the Halim Dener Campaign to commemorate the 25th anniversary.
The Halim Dener Campaign platform published a video in which they called for this march. In the video, Kurdish young people and internationalists living in Hannover are walking through the streets of Hannover with Halim Dener masks. The platform’s statement stated: We call on Halim Deners to go out on the street in a mass, powerful and loud way because of the 25th anniversary of his martyrdom. Nothing and no one will be forgotten! A memorial worthy of Halim Dener will emerge as a result of our common struggle!
After being tortured in Turkey early age, Halim who defected to Germany on June 30, 1994, where he was killed by a shot from behind the German police because he was carrying the PKK flag.
In addition to the central march on July 6, a rally will be held at the place where he was shot on June 30, when he was killed.
