CENTRAL NEWS

Communist Party France (CPF) member Senator Laurence Cohen wrote a letter to Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian and pointed out that the freezing of CDK-F administrators’ bank accounts coincided with the minister’s visit to Turkey.

Cohen said the bank accounts of CDK-F administrators were frozen under the guise of “fight against the funding of terrorism” and stressed that the decision is a very bad one.

Senator Cohen said Turkey has been accusing officials from Kurdish institutions in France for similar crimes and added that the country itself is funding terrorism. Cohen said: “About the funding of terrorism issue, it bears repeating that ISIS sold its oil through the Turkish border, not the Kurdish controlled region.”

Cohen said the Kurdish people have paid a great price in the fight against ISIS and added that Turkey was ISIS’ biggest ally at the time.

Cohen said French courts have themselves recognized that the MIT was involved in the murders of Sakine Cansiz, Fidan Dogan and Leyla Saylemez in Paris in 2013.

Cohen added that they as over 40 MPs from left and right wing parties issued a joint call in February and repeated the call for support for the Kurdish women’s struggle for freedom and for the Kurds’ right to self-determination in general.

Cohen concluded the letter by requesting a meeting to discuss the criminalizing policies against Kurdish politicians and representatives of institutions in the name of the MPs who are members of the Kurdish Friendship Group which were set up to support the Kurds.
