The three sisters: Raghad (10), Rahaf (7), and Malak (15), were drowned by their father (Ali Abdullah AlNaami) in a barrel of water at 11 am Friday, 28 June.
The information regarding the case was obtained from leaked Police files.
The girls were taken to the Al-Thawra hospital’s emergency room by their Uncle Abdullah Hussien Alkhalqi and their mother. Upon arrival, it had been shared that the three sisters were deceased.
Police forces have since carried out a search and detained the father.
Upon questioning, the father explains that the family is from a very poor background, and the crisis in Yemen has made poverty worse. Ali voiced that the landlord had come to their family home on the previous morning to give them a last warning to pay rent or evacuate the residence by 6 pm.
Ali, knowing that his family would be on the streets, killed his daughters to spare them the suffering of homelessness.
During the time of the murder, the mother was away at her brothers home to seek help; upon her return she finds Ali running away.
