The brother of the Peoples Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Mehmet Öcalan, applied to Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office on Friday to go to İmralı for Eid visits. The other detainee in İmralı was Hamili Yıldırım’s brother Polat Yıldırım, Ömer Hayri Konar’s brother Emin Konar and Veysel Aktaş’s sister, Sabiha Aslan, applied with the same request.

When the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office responded to the application, the families came to Gemlik Gendarmerie Station in the morning and went to İmralı. Families returned from Imrali after their meeting and left after the legal procedures at Gemlik Gendarmerie Station.

Mehmet Ocalans last meeting with the Peoples Leader Abdullah Ocalan was on January 12.

Ömer Hayri Konar and Veysel Aktaş were not allowed to meet with their families since 15 July 2015, when they were sent to İmralı as ‘secretariats’. Hilmi Yildirim was sent on 15 July, 2015. Konar, Aktaş, and Yıldırım have met with their families for the first time after being sent to İmralı.
