ATHENS
Martyr Zeynep Kınacı (Zîlan) who carried out a self-sacrifice action in 1996 in Dersim was commemorated in Lavrio, Greece.
In the Lavrio camp where the commemoration was held, giant posters of the People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the martyr Zîlan were hung as well as PKK flags.
The commemoration started with a minute of silence, with the participation of a large number of Kurdistanis. In the speeches made by the members of the Greek People’s Assembly, it was stated that the resistance line created by Martyr Zillan is continued by Kurdish women.
In the commemoration, the slogans “martyrs live on” were chanted followed by the sharing of Zilan’s letter before her action.
