Tevgera Jinên Azad (TJA) and HDP Young Women’s Assembly in Sur have launched their project to protect nature, with the Sur Municipality co-mayor, Filiz Buluttekin and the members of the council who cleaned the streets of Sur district.
Merve Öztep from the HDP Young Women’s Assembly made a brief statement before the cleaning action and said that they went to protect Sur and called for sensitivity from society. Merve said, “Historical Walls are wanted to be destroyed. We will protect the city walls and we will continue our struggle against the policies carried out on the city walls. ”
Sur Walls should be protected for the future of our children
City Council Co-Mayor Filiz Buluttekin touched on the historical heritage of the city walls which should not be ignored. Filiz said, “The walls had to be cleaned due to our goal of leaving our walls to future generations. We will protect our history and our Walls”.
Following brief statements, the TJA activists, HDP Young Women’s Assembly, and municipal co-mayor and city council members wore orange waistcoats and cleaned up Sur.
