COLOGNE
On June 5, 2016, the guerrillas who were martyred in Qendî, Lecwan Munzur and Çekdar Botan were commemorated in the German city of Cologne during the attacks carried out by the occupying Turkish state.
The commemoration of Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger (TCŞ) was attended by families of martyrs, many Kurdish youths who knew them, and the Kurdish people living in and around Cologne.
Later, Şiyar Gabar gave a speech on behalf of TCŞ. Şiyar Gabar stated that “Şehit Lecwan and Şehit Çekdar have put a great responsibility on the whole Kurdish youth, with their work in Germany. They really showed a fight that didn’t fit into words. As a revolutionary youth movement, we are trying to move on the path that they are drawing today.”
Şiyar Gabar said that he knew both revolutionaries who were martyred, and that “the most important characteristics of Şehit Çekdar and Şehit Lecwan were honesty, simplicity, and naturalness. That no matter what happened in life, they always put their comrades first.”
During the commemoration, Ayten Sünger, martyr Lecwan’s mother gave a speech. Ayten Sünger said: with him, 7000 comrades laid their bodies to death in order to realize the dreams of their remaining comrades. Ayten Sünger ended her speech with the slogans of ’Şehîd Namirin’ and ‘Bijî Serok APO’
At the end of the commemoration, a call was made to the youth to attend the great march against the occupation in Efrin, on June 8 at Ebertplatz, 50668, Köln.
