HPG BİM in Xakurkê, Iğdır, and Amed made a written statement about the actions taken against the occupying Turkish soldiers.
HPG: The invading Turkish army, which suffered heavy blows against guerrillas from Xakurkê to Serhat Province, is concealing its death tolls in an attempt to hide the truth from the public. The invaders, who mobilize all opportunities, suffer heavy losses in the actions of our forces. In the areas with guerrilla dominance, they are under complete audit.
On this basis, the details of the actions taken in Xakurkê, Serhat and Amed are as follows:
The historical resistance of our forces against the occupation operation started and continues in Xakurkê with all effectiveness.
1. Our forces have carried out an effective action against the occupation operation started by the occupying Turkish army in Xakurkê. Within the scope of Martyr Bager and Martyr Ronya Revolutionary Assault, our forces took control of the operations troops in Ermuş Strait at noon on June 11th. This enemy unit, which was kept under control for a while, was targeted by our forces at 15.00. 4 soldiers were killed and 1 soldier was wounded in this enemy unit which was taken under intense fire from 3 different branches. After the action, the invading Turkish army bombed the area with attack helicopters, howitzers, and mortars, and removed the dead and wounded soldiers from the area towards the evening hours. Our units organizing the action have reached their bases, without any loss.
2. Within the scope of the Revolutionary Victory Assault in Serhat Province, our forces have long controlled the mobility of the enemy on the road between Bazid (Doğubeyazıt) district and Ağrı. Our forces took full control of the enemy unit and organized a panzer-type armored vehicle and a truck with about 30 soldiers on June 11th at 06.30. The truck, which was effectively hit at close range, was completely destroyed and the armored panzer received heavy blows. As a result of this action, at least 20 enemy soldiers were killed and more than 15 soldiers were wounded.
Following the action, the invading Turkish army bombed the area with howitzers and mortars, and removed many ambulances and armored vehicles and dead-wounded soldiers from the area. This action was organized by HPG, YJA Star and HBDH forces against the attacks to the Media Defense Areas and the ongoing occupation of Southern Kurdistan. Our troops carrying out the action have reached solid base areas.
3. On June 9, at 19.20, our forces organized action against a unit of the occupying Turkish army, which tried to secure the dam of Farqin (Silvan) district of Amed. The number of dead and wounded soldiers could not be determined in this action, where the enemy’s tower was effectively shot. Following the action, the invading Turkish army launched an operation in the area. Our forces carried out a road control action between Pasur district of Amed and Muş road from 10 pm on 10 June. Our forces closing the road to traffic, have carried out identity checks on the road and informed the public about the process.
4. At 07.00 on 12 June, warplanes belonging to the invading Turkish army bombed the Xınêre area of the Xakurkê region from the Media Defense Areas. We did not experience any loss in these bombings.
