Eyüp Dal had set fire to his body in front of Sahinbey Municipality on May 16th. Dal, who suffered severe burns in his body and was held in the intensive care unit for 4 days, after which he lost his life.
The incident occured because Dal was a former convict and could not be formally employed. He applied to the Municipality of Şahinbey via İŞKUR which was rejected. Dal found the solution in setting himself on fire as he could no longer maintain his life.
