QSD commanders Dijwar Heleb and Aryan Qamislo held a press conference about the DAESH-cell operations held in Shedade, Derazor and the canton of Hesekê.
Dijwar Helep, one of the QSD commanders, said, The Democratic Syrian Forces announced on 15 May that we are launching moves towards DAESH’s secret cells. Within the scope of the move, we cleared an area of 180 km length and 80 km wide.
About 5,000 QSD fighters participated in the move. As QSD, our aim with this move is to enable the peoples of the region to return to their own land and live safely. About 42 DAESH gangs were found.
From here, we once again state that; We will continue our operations at this point where DAESH is located and will enter every cell that has not been operated until now.The aim of our move is to destroy the cells of DAESH gangs that have been fighting against QSD for years and now operating in a secret way.
42 DAESH members were captured and a certain amount of weapons and ammunition were confiscated. Among the weapons seized, there are 33 sniper rifles and many weapons. Most of these weapons were confiscated in the region of Dese.
Our operations against cell structures will continue with all our strength and determination. One of the YPJ commanders, Aryan Qamislo, said that many people who left Dêrazor were forcibly used for military and political purposes.
Emphasizing that these games were played through civilians, Qamislo also stated that Derezor was an important region geographically. For this reason, everyone is trying to dominate the said region.
