ANKARA
Middle East Technical University (ODTU) has allocated 40 acres of land for endemic species, including thousands of trees and other living things, to the Credit Dormitories Institution (KYK) for a period of 49 years with a one-page protocol. METU students have been on the campus for 13 days against the construction of KYK’s dormitory in the campus area.
CALL OF ODTU
The students who founded the Melange Initiative: Our expectation will continue. We plan to organize events. We will invite not only our students but also our teachers who are next to their living spaces to our events. We will not allow the construction of the KYK dormitory in the poplar area, enlarging our resistance. The attack on ODTU should actually appear to be an attack against the nature of the university and against the nature. We call on everyone to defend nature, freedoms, scientific academic production and ODTU.
