“I’ve decided to share the observations about the Shengal leg of KDP’s betrayal-based liquidation strategy, which is known to be a popular part of the KSI (Special Warfare Center) in its formation, as a debt to tens of thousands of martyrs who fought a great fight for Şengal’s freedom and fell martyr.
THE ARRIVAL OF KDP IN ŞENGAL
The KDP, which started to settle in Sengal as soon as Saddam Hussein was overthrown in Iraq, has continuously carried out dirty policies on the êzîdî community since the first day they stepped into Şengal. When we talked with the many people we talked to in Şengal, we were surprised to hear how the negative changes in the êzîdî community have been developed. Before the mandate in 2014, as a people who have 62 edicts, they are asked to be subject to many compulsory changes but they are in a constant struggle against it. In the êzîdî society, the soldiers fought valiantly; with thousands of women and men, their bravery is a legacy. Every hero set out in the great battle to preserve their essence. In 2003, KDP started to settle in Shengal step by step. The people gave us examples of their ‘developments’. While the blue color is sacred for the êzîdî, it was made fashion and blue clothes were popularized in every society. These outfits for the êzîdî culture are historic and is left to be replaced by ready-made, exploitative ‘fashion’ clothes.
“THE HERO PESHMERGA” will protect you they were told. Shortly after, the self-defense power of the people was purged.“Ezîdî is separate from the Kurdish” they spread, creating deep social fragmentation. The êzîdî community identifies with their spiritual beliefs, and is passed on through parents, who must both be êzîdî. For this reason, the êzîdî community are considered as a family and have an important role within society. As a result of the force which implemented dozens of ‘developments’, the family institution, was reduced to mere sexual intercourse. The society who had preserved itself until then, were made to lose their values.”
