HPG Press Liaison Center released that on May 21, HPG guerillas carried out an action in the Media Defense Areas in the Xakurke region of the occupation. The revolutionary operation was carried out in the names of Martyr Bager and Martyr Ronya.
The HPG statement gave the following details:
’Our forces organized an action with heavy weapons at 13:30 on Lêlikan Hill. The number of dead and wounded soldiers could not be determined in this action, where enemy positions and shelters were taken under intense fire.
At 4:30 pm, our forces carried out an action targeting the Lêlikan Hill for the second time. Two soldiers were killed in this action in which the enemy units were located in an effective manner. Our forces have also destroyed 2 positions, 1 radar, 1 A4 heavy weapon, 1 BKC automatic weapon and 1 bomb launcher.
After the action, the invading Turkish army, with the support of the cobra type assault helicopters took the dead and wounded soldiers and bombed the Şehit Şervan area, Lolan stream, Lêlikan and Elidırêj straits with their warplanes. Our unit that organized the action has reached a base unharmed.
At around 17:00, an action was carried out by our local units against a group of soldiers in Elidirêj; the action had been carried out after the group had been thoroughly surveilled. Three soldiers were killed and a large number of soldiers were wounded in this action, where the enemy troops were hit accurately. After the action, the occupying forces removed the dead and wounded soldiers from the area with Skorsky helicopters.
AIR ATTACK
The HPG said, ’On May 21 at 4:30 pm, the occupying Turkish army aircrafts carried out an air strike against the Hakkari Hill in the Metina region of the Media Defense Areas. There was no loss in these attacks.
