The People’s Revolutionary Movement of Peoples’ (HBDH) Executive Committee, who made a written statement, said, The hunger strike resistance, which started 200 days ago with the demand of the isolation imposed on the People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan to be lifted, was finished with the demand of Abdullah Öcalan himself.
The Resistance started as a hunger strike action initiated by Leyla Guven and has grown like an avalanche to this day. For 200 days, the hunger strike resistance was transformed into a resistance movement that first arrived at tens and then at thousands. The cry of freedom initiated by Leyla Guven was owned by millions.
The fascist force, which was desperate in the face of resistance, tried to prevent resistance by detention, torture and prohibition. However, in spite of everything, the activists who walked to immortality at the expense of their lives broke a brick every day. The revolutionaries, who sacrificed their lives for the sake of their ideals one after the other, proved the weakness at a moment when fascism seemed most powerful.
In this resistance, our people from all identities; worker, youth and woman stood shoulder to shoulder in resistance. But in front of this struggle, those who pay the greatest price have been mothers who did not leave when their children died. They became owners of the dungeon insurgents’ demand for freedom in the darkness of fascism by their white headscarves. We have the white headscarved mothers that have overcome every obstruction in snow, rain and mud.
At this stage, the isolated Abdullah Öcalan started to meet with his lawyers again. The 8-year negotiation and the conditions of aggravated isolation were broken down by two consecutive views thanks to resistance.
The record showed once again to Turkey and Kurdistan, in the reality of fascism, that freedom can be achieved. 8 years of isolation was broken in the face of the costs paid and the resistance.
While this way ‘let us destroy fascism, break the isolation, and free Turkey and Kurdistan,’ we said. The first stage of our revolutionary movement was triumphant. The isolation on the Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan has disappeared. Our next struggle will be the struggle of fascism. After the collapse of fascism in Turkey and Kurdistan, we will further be closer to the ideals of freedom aspirations of the people.
It is this will and determination that will overcome fascism. We must transform the great spirit of resistance revealed by the hunger strike activists into organization and action in all areas. This process of resistance has shown that we can resist success against fascism. The revolutionary democratic matriotic society has a task of organizing a united struggle, in order to draw conclusions from the process of resistance, to be in total struggle against fascism wherever it is located.
The days of Fascist Erdogan’s regime are numbered. For them, the end of the Fascist Erdogan regime would not be as beautiful as the struggle for the United Revolution of the working class and the laborers. The hunger strike resistance showed us that if we struggle, pay the price, the resistance is close if it is taken by the people.
At this point, it is our historical responsibility to further strengthen the ranks of the united revolution against fascism.
